How it works

The conversion happens entirely on your device using the browser canvas. That means there is no upload, no queue and no size limit beyond your own machine, and your images stay private. WebP usually gives the smallest files for the same visual quality, which is why it is the default.

Supported formats

Input: any image your browser can open, including PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF and BMP. Output: WebP, JPG or PNG. HEIC input is on the roadmap.

Tips

  • For photos, WebP at 75 to 85 percent quality is a good balance of size and clarity.
  • Set a max width to downscale large camera images for the web in one step.
  • Converting to JPG flattens transparency onto a white background.
